They say patience is a virtue. We must be quite virtuous in Forest Park. But thank goodness it's finally paying off!
Coming soon (estimated time October-November) in the former Naked Art house right next to Silvertron Café: a garden store!
We couldn't be happier to welcome our new neighbors Mark and Jay and their brain child named SHOPPE. They have been working very hard planning for the new space, that includes building a green house for tropical plants. As soon as they can go through all the bureaucracy formalities, they will continue with the beautiful transformation. If you are a resident of Forest Park/South Avondale, make sure to g to the next neighborhood meeting on Tuesday September 12 to learn more and support them!
Now here comes even more excitement: the owner of Hot Box, which has been serving delicious international fare for a few years out of the little Airstream trailer at Parkside, will open a New Orleans "Po Boys" style eatery in the former Pink House Café right here in Forest Park! It should be opening its doors in October.
Whisting Table, the soon to be brick and mortar version of the Shindigs food truck will move in the former VRichards location (estimated date: November/December). Construction began a few days ago and has shown no sign of interruption.
The restaurant will features organic and locally sourced dishes.
We also heard rumors that the former Full Circle space, previously occupied by Maralyn Wilson gallery is about to change hands... but no details yet as who are the new owners.
