Scott Thigpen grew up on an isthmus in Alabama known as Guntersville. When he didn’t have pens, pencils and sketchbooks in his hands, he was on his bike. Scott Graduated from Samford University but rather enjoys it when people misheard him and thinking he said “Stanford.” After graduation and a series of dead end jobs, Scott started freelance illustrating for companies like the Wall Street Journal, Dreamworks and Coca Cola. In 2013 he raced his mountain bike across the country on one of the toughest mountain bike races in the world, The Tour Divide. Starting from zero and training for two years he finished fourth (in singlespeed category) covering 2,853 miles over three countries. He currently works for UAB and lives in Birmingham with his wife Kate and his two stepchildren, Ethan and Emma.
